The entire society faces the overwhelming digitalisation of the way of living, such as the advancement of artificial intelligence and the increasing coverage of the Internet. How people do business and operate corporations has thereby been changed drastically. What impact will this have on business education itself? How should we, the educators, help the students who have clear requirements and expectations to drive new things with the new tools at a greater pace than in the past? It is obvious that the business education industry will go through a strong wave of innovation. This session will explore these questions. |

14:00 - 16:50 | Session 2 (Parallel):The Future Collaboration and Boundary between Business Schools and Engineering Schools As there is a closer connection between business operations and technological tools, employers nowadays are keen on hiring employees with both technical and managerial skills. On the one hand, engineering students who can design new products and manufacturing processes are eager to take their ideas into the market by themselves. On the other hand, business students also feel it necessary to acquire more knowledge of technology development because they will inevitably utilize the new tools in management operations. Therefore, the intersection between business schools and engineering schools are unavoidably increasing. More and more joint degree programs and other academic collaboration between business schools and engineering schools are emerging at a rapid speed. This session would like to inspire new ideas on such collaborations and discuss the boundaries between business schools and engineering schools. |

14:00 - 16:50 | Session 3 (Parallel):Collaboration for Excellence – How Leading Companies and Business Schools are Working Together in Executive Education Globalizing industries need increasingly varied and focused training and development solutions. And business schools seek to offer the highest level of such training and development. But we see that many companies work with training companies and develop their own in-house academic programs, while business schools are too often seen, with some justification, as too distant from real-world, current and global business practice, though they do boast credentialed teaching faculty and integrated teaching resources. So when we see models of leading business schools and multinational companies working effectively together, there’s a lot we can learn from. The partners redefine the boundary between one another and jointly develop highly tailored solutions. This session will look at some specific cases of collaboration, and point us toward more dynamic partnerships. |

These organizations offer opportunities for the networking of business schools worldwide. Management education providers with similar backgrounds and positions reach out to their international peers within these organizations. Besides, their accreditation system, tutoring programs, and corporate connections are of considerable value to business schools. Institutions share resources and experiences, pursue similar goals, and dialogue with others in the international business school communities. When business schools think about their development strategy, how shall they take into consideration the roles of these international business school communities? This session will invite leaders from recognized organizations in business education industry to share their viewpoints. |
